The Reigning King

  1. Thank you for listening to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Sermon Audio. For more information, please visit our website, pgbcrhonda.com, or visit on all social media platforms. Amen.

Thank you for singing out this morning. If you have a child who wants to be dismissed to Children's Church, Williams is going to be taking them back now. And I always appreciate all of our Children's Church leaders and workers as they provide that opportunity for them.

If you have your Bibles, we're going to be in Psalms chapter 110, Psalms 110 as we continue in our Psalms through the summer. And we're going to be looking at the reigning king this morning.

This is a messianic psalm about the priestly king of Jesus. And so we're going to jump into that today. Excited about this passage this morning.

I was talking to a couple of my friends about it as they were asking me what I was preaching on.

  2. And so excited to look at this passage this morning. Let's all stand out and read in God's word. Psalms 110. We'll read all seven verses this morning.

If you find your place there. It says, This is the declaration of the Lord to my Lord. Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion.

Rule over your surrounding enemies. Your people will volunteer on your day of battle. In holy splendor from the womb of the dawn, The dew of your youth belongs to you. The Lord has sworn an oath and will not take it back. You are a priest forever according to the pattern of Melchizedek.

The Lord is at your right hand and he will crush your kings on the day of his anger. He will judge the nations, heap up corpses, And will crush leaders over the entire world.

  3. He will drink from the brook by the road. Therefore, he will lift up his head. Father, we love you. Thank you for what you've done for us. Thank you for the reading of your word. Pray that you'll be with the preaching of your word at this time. In your name we pray. Amen.

You may be seated. In and throughout scripture, There are many different passages in the Old Testament And psalms in the Old Testament That are brought into the New Testament. But very few of them have been quoted more than psalms 110.

As you go through the psalms and you go through scripture, This specific psalm is quoted more than any other psalm in all the New Testament. Jesus quoted it.

Peter preached from these passages from the day of Pentecost While he got up and preached that very first message When 3,000 people got saved, He pulled his text from psalms 110.

  4. Paul used it various different times. And if you are a reader of Hebrews,

You will know that Hebrews builds almost his entire book On the book of Psalms 110. This passage of Psalms 110.

And we're going to pull a little bit of that today For sake of time, I'm not going to be able to elaborate.

I pray that you'll take some of the notes and things I say And we'll cross-reference those to the book of Hebrews And we'll learn a little bit of this for yourself And I'll give us some help through this. But this is one of the most clearest messianic psalms of all scripture.

What that means is, It's the clearest psalm that tells us who Jesus is going to be And how he is going to come into this world And what he is going to do in the future. So it accomplishes a lot in one specific passage.

  5. David, who was one of the greatest kings of all of Israel, I've said it before, You can go to Israel right now And they still have the city of David named after him. You can go into David's house. You can walk into where he was at.

It's all ruins, but they've rebuilt some of it. But you can stand on the different floors Of where David was actually at.

And they still have it named the city of David Because he was their favorite king of all time.

And yet he opens up verse 1 by saying this, There is someone greater than me that is coming in the future. He says that this is the declaration of the Lord himself To my Lord about someone else who is coming.

So David is looking ahead to the messianic psalm, To the messianic of Jesus, And he's saying there's going to be someone that's coming As my heir that is going to be greater than me.

  6. Jesus uses this passage in Matthew chapter 22 When he is looking at the Pharisees and he says, If the Messiah is merely David's son, Why does David call him Lord?

If you would be in here this evening, this morning, You would say it would be odd for you as the parent To look at your child and call them superior than you. But yet David, as he's writing this, is saying, I am the Lord and I am writing to my Lord.

And so he is saying this confusing statement Even to the Pharisees as he begins to lay this out.

And the answer is simple that Jesus is laying out And the Pharisees couldn't understand it But Jesus was both David's son and also David's Lord. As we're going to look at today, he was a person, He was the person that was only able to do two offices at one time.

  7. He was able to hold the office of king And he was also able to hold the office of priest.

We're going to see how that works through this psalm today But no one else was able to portray both of these Because if you know anything, And I'm giving a lot of history here in a short amount of time, If you know anything about the Jewish nation,

The kings came from a specific tribe And the priests came from a specific tribe. Now we probably could all answer where the priests come from. Who were the priests?

Who were they? What tribe were they from? They might know the Leviticus, the Levites. Okay, does anybody know where the kings came out of? Judah. Very good.

Judah was the one that came from the kings. So you could not have a king from Judah And also a priest from Judah Or you couldn't have a priest from Judah And a priest from Leviticus.

  8. It was not able to happen And yet Jesus came in And he fulfilled both of these perfectly.

John Calvin said it like this As he was looking at Psalms 110 He said, Psalms 110 unites the royalty And the priestly offices into one person Something that was impossible To fulfill in the old covenant Which gives us

so much hope this morning Because we place our faith And our hope in Jesus Who fulfills all of these things for us As he is our king And he is our priest And so let's walk through what this

looks like Verses one through three We see the reign of Christ as king Now my wife very rarely Does she look at my notes beforehand But she looked at my notes And she just held her head last night

In despair Because I gave all peace for my blank Except the very first one And so I could not alliterate king To be a P word But all the rest will be P And if you alliterate And if

  9. you take notes Hopefully that will help you But all the rest will be P words But when we begin thinking of Christ The reign of Christ as king It gives us a couple of things That it walks through here In the beginning Everything begins with Christ's authority

Christ's authority was laid out In Genesis 1 verse 2 Where it says that he was the light That was there in the darkness And as Jesus' authority And his power is laid out All throughout scripture We begin to walk through this And we begin to see That Jesus'

resurrection And his power over resurrection Was not simply him escaping death

We often think Well he just escaped death And he went through death But it really was It was his coronation To be the king of kings And the lord of lords And the priest of all priests That we're

  10. going to see today Peter lays it out in verse In Acts chapter 2 Where he says And declares That Jesus was made through God To be both lord and messiah And he lays this out Because it is so vital For us to

understand this That he's not just someone Who came to conquer death Hell in the grave But he's also someone Who gives us eternal life As we put our faith And trust in him As our king and kings And

lord of lords We begin to see His powerful authority We begin to see The very first thing Lays out here Is he is sitting At the right hand Of the father He says that I sit at my right

hand Now the right hand Was the supreme authority In our language today The only way we can explain this Because we don't have kings We don't have monarchies But we have a president And we have a vice president

  11. The vice president Is the second highest Ruling person in our land So what he is saying here Is Jesus is sitting At the right hand Of the one who has all authority

We often try to figure This out as location Because that doesn't even Give a good example Because the second person The vice president Has limited authority But Christ has supreme And all authority That's been given to him Another

way to look at this Would be an exaltation Of position To where Jesus is placed At the right hand Of the father And has all authority Of everything And I want to illustrate it Like this Because I hope

it can Help us understand it Throughout all of scripture We see people sitting At the right hand Of different people The one that I want to Lay out is It symbolizes this Honor Authority Victory And sovereignty And what

  12. happens Is in the Old Testament Joseph Who was the The 11th born child Of Israel Of Jacob Was sold into slavery He goes to Pharaoh You know all the trials He goes through And then when he reads Pharaoh's vision What does Pharaoh do?

Pharaoh elevates him To the second in command And gives him his ring His signet ring And what this simply means is As he gave this ring To Joseph He said Joseph you're going to Put this ring on And

whatever you say Whatever you do Whatever you sign It's going to be like I am signing it When you take this ring And you imprint it Onto a declaration It's going to be just like I was the one

That was writing that And this is what God Is saying He said I take Jesus I've taken him He has suffered He has bled He has died He has risen from the grave And now he sits At the

  13. right hand And whatever he says Is just like what I am saying He has all authority He has complete authority And he is helping us To understand What this looks like When you look at the Old Testament If

you like the Old Testament Some people love the Old Testament They love studying the Old Testament Some people love the New Testament And it's how we've been wired And it's how we've been programmed But if you truly look

at the Old Testament The priest had one job The priest's job was to stand in the temple And they would bring a sacrifice to them They would take the sacrifice Into the Holy of Holies And they would offer

that sacrifice And they would come back out And they would take another sacrifice Their job was continual and constant They never had time to rest They never had time to sit down They never had time to do anything

  14. But offer sacrifices So when he makes this phrase You sit down at the right hand And he is bringing this into completion With Christ's works He is telling us that Jesus' work doesn't need to be repeated The priest's job of continually

working And continually doing these things Has now been put to complete destruction Because Christ has made the sacrifice He is our King of Kings He is our Lord of Lords And we do not need to do the things That the Old Testament was telling us to do

Often times people will ask me And they'll, as we have these theological conversations They'll say Do you not look at Jesus And look at the defeat of the cross? Your Savior was killed on a cross Is that not defeating?

My response is simple as this It was not a declaration of defeat But it was a declaration of victory Over death, hell, and the grave And his authority is displayed Through his ascension And it begins to lay out

  15. And go through everything That Christ has done for us And through us And what's going to happen to us What Spurgeon said is this The mediator is enthroned Not struggling for a throne

Jesus, our mediator Is not struggling And trying to fight for power And trying to work on this He has been seated at the right hand of God He has been enthroned As the King of Kings And the Lord

of Lords Think of a courtroom for a moment As you watch courtroom documentaries And you see some things I just got done watching The Nuremberg trials on Netflix And it portrayed this so clearly Because as the judge came

in On the international trial What did they always say? Please rise for the honorable judge So and so, whatever And everyone in the entire courtroom stands Because that judge has authority That judge has been given authority And as the judge sits Everyone else is able to sit Jesus

  16. has come in And he didn't earn He didn't He didn't have to earn the authority He was possessed All the authority that was there And it was given And when we come into his presence He is seated And

we can't help but stand to honor him Or fall on our faces And worship him And as we begin to see this As Jesus has this powerful All authority that was given The question has to come into our mind And into our hearts And ask ourselves Is Jesus reigning supreme in our heart?

Is he the one that has all authority And all power? Or am I living as though I control everything?

And God is just there with me? It is a good point to ask ourselves And to ponder as we go through this Not only does he have powerful authority He has a prominent position Look at what it says here It says until I make your

  17. enemies your footstool This imagery comes from ancient kings And ancient past What they would do is They would have servants and slaves From another kingdom that they overtook They would put them into the king's banquet hall And they

would use these people As their footstool They would not have a bench that was made They would not have a piece of wood that was made They would use actual people As their footstool To show I am your

king And I have overcome you And this picture that is showing Is showing that Christ is ruling in the midst of this Christ is here in this And he is the king that has defeated all the other kings

In all of the time Joshua 10 records it like this I want to read it The commanders placed their feet

Upon the conquered kings And it showed this complete victory As we look at this through Christ's eyes Christ has overcome and defeated all that was there with us

  18. The theologians like to say it like this It's the already and not yet The already that has happened But yet the not yet that's happened Christ has already proclaimed the victory But yet we are living through the time

Where we are still going through trials And we are still going through tribulation Satan has been defeated The sin has been defeated Death has been defeated But yet we're living in a sinful world In a not yet purified

perfect world We are waiting this final realization When Christ comes back And he calls us home And we get to stand in his glory And we get to see him For who he truly is And we get to

see him as savior and savior We get to worship him as lord of lord as well

Psalms 110 is echoed in 1 Corinthians 15 I'm going to use a lot of these Because I want you to see how many times it's used It says this The last enemy will be abolished And that enemy is

  19. death The enemy may still fight us Death may still come into us As I was talking to Tom One of my pastor friends And he is the pastor over at Claude Jr.'s son's church And he's the new pastor

there Tom Williams Williams I think his last name is Andrews is his last name He told me he said He just had his The first death in the church That was a prominent death Since he's been there He

said the church is hurting a little bit And they're struggling a little bit And he just said Just pray for us We still live in this world of death But yet Christ has overcome the death Christ has overcome the grave And yet we still have funerals

And what it's saying is The enemy may still fight against us But the enemy cannot win in the end We have this victory in Jesus That is so pronounced throughout scripture That all Satan can do Is come against

  20. us in this moment One of my favorite things to study In all of history is D-Day And the shores of Normandy I think Terry just went there And got to experience that And I think some of you others Have went there I know Donald and Trish have been

One day I want to stand On the shores of Normandy Where D-Day happened And if you ever have studied The history of D-Day The planning and the precision Of what that had to do The weather, the

temperature Everything that had to work out perfectly For that day to happen The fake missions that happened To throw off the enemies All these things were happening And when D-Day happened And when the Allied invasion happened And it succeeded Everyone knew that Germany's day Was now numbered

Germany was defeated on that day And we were coming in On the shores of Normandy To take over everything That was going to happen And the days were numbered for them Yet there were still battles

  21. The battles were still going on The small little frustrations were there But overarchingly The war was over In this moment And this helps us to understand What has happened in our lives The Christian life Is lived between D

-Day When Christ put death And hell in the grave And what we like to call Victory Day The return of Jesus We're living in between here There are still battles that we face Christ has won those battles We're

still going to struggle With temptations We're still going to struggle With trials And yet we are waiting And looking for that final celebration When Christ splits the eastern skies And we see him come In all of his glory We get to stand there And worship him In between D-Day And Victory Day

The battle's been won The war has been won But there are these small battles That we still go through And then we see The verses 2-3 One of the most encouraging portions Of this whole scripture

  22. Is the participating people He literally is writing about us As we walk through this Look at what he says here He says that The Lord will extend your mighty Scepter from Zion You will rule over his surrounding enemies Your people will volunteer On your day of battle

The king is reigning And he is producing Willingly followers He is not forcing us To follow him See a king in the Old Testament day Would take over a kingdom And all the ones That were in that kingdom Would be forced to serve under him

God is not saying That Jesus has overcome The victory He has not overcome the grave And now we are forced To be his servants We are forced to serve him No, no It says that we Get to willingly

Step into this glorious kingdom And say God I want to serve you Because I am unworthy To serve anyone else Other than you

  23. And Christ Begins to lay out A couple of things here As God is giving

David this vision Of what is going to happen He lays out two things He lays out the first one This Christ is ruling In the midst of all these things Look at what it says here

Rule over your surrounding Enemies The enemies are there And Christ is in the middle Of it The surrounding enemies Are around him The enemies do not disappear In this moment He is in the middle of them He is in every difficult Circumstance or situation That we go through He is there with us

He is not some absent God Who is standing up in heaven And saying I don't know what is going to happen here I just don't know why James is going through this problem No, the Bible says That he

is there with us Actively working And interceding with us He doesn't remove The difficulties From our lives Even though we wish That would happen

  24. What does he do? He comes and he stands beside us

He comes and he says I am going to Be right here with you As you go through this valley Psalms 23 As you walk through The valley of shadow of death I will be there with you

And he comes alongside of us And begins to work In and through our situations Because Christ rules Over all hostile territories And he has rule over them Christ is still reigning today And he still lives For us today

Christ reigns through his people Verse 3 Your people will volunteer On your day of battle Look at this Voluntarily serving This not forcefulness But this willingness To joyfully obey Who he is Matthew Henry A great commentator Said it like this Christ's subjects Are volunteers

His subjects Are volunteers We're not born Into the family We are reborn Into his family And we willingly Serve him As a volunteer Coming to serve The kingdom Of what is going on My mind goes to An army

  25. Or marines You're born into An America As an American And then you volunteer To serve Your life As a military serviceman You are saying I am going to Serve my country As my country Is needed I'm not going

to Be forced The draft Happened many Many years ago We weren't a part Of that Now we get to

Voluntarily serve Our country If you decide To join the military And many of our People in here Fathers and brothers And sisters And sons and daughters Have served in the military And this is The greatest picture We get

is Looking and seeing Someone who is Willingly giving up Their freedom In order to serve The greater good Of the country

And Christ is saying And this is what We look to As we are These people Who are participating In this kingdom Not only do we see His reign As Christ As king But now we see The reign As

  26. Christ As the high priest And I've got to Spend some time here I rushed through Some of that So I could get To this

Teaching of what This looks like As we are Introduced to this Character called Melchizedek In just a minute But verse 4 Begins to change How we look at this He says here The Lord has sworn An oath And

will not Take it back God is now Making an oath And this happens A couple of times In scripture He made an oath To Abraham And Isaac And Jacob And he made Different oaths That he would Do certain

things But there are Very few times That God makes Oaths to people And in this moment God is making An oath to David And he is swearing By this promise That it will be An unbreakable promise He says

I will Not take it back And he says this That you are A priest forever According to The pattern of Melchizedek We see the priesthood That Christ is going To have to all nations

  27. We see this priesthood That we don't Fully understand We don't fully Understand because We're Americans And we didn't live In this Hebrew nation But we see this This person Coming about That's named Melchizedek Now Melchizedek Is only used

A couple of times In scripture And so I've got To explain this The best way If I can I could preach Multiple days Sermons on Melchizedek And one day I may But Melchizedek The first time He's mentioned Is

in Genesis 14 He is suddenly Brought into place We don't have A history of who He was But we know He was the king Of Salem And he was the priest Of the God Of the most high And

when he comes In in Genesis 14 He blesses Abraham He says Abraham I see what you're doing I see you left Your land I'm going to come And I'm going to Bless you And I'm going to Make you

  28. a great Nation to all These different nations And Abraham in return Gives him a blessing Back and gives him A tenth of all That he had And this is the First time we see The first person That is holding Both offices Of priest and king

Long before The law of Moses Priests were not Even introduced yet Many people look Back and say That this was Jesus Transfigured Into the Old Testament I believe that as well But we see that Jesus

He comes from Judah Jesus was from The line of Judah He was not a Descendant from Levi So how could he Be a priest

And we walk Through this A lot of theological Sides You can see the Genealogy and how God appointed him But what I want us To understand is He becomes a priest And he connects it To all nations When

Melchizedek Comes into the scene In Genesis 12 He is ministered To all the nations Before Israel Even existed And he makes this Promise to Abraham He says this You will be a Father of a nation To bless all

  29. The other nations And we begin to see That Jesus Is this same way He fulfills This promise He becomes the Priest of not only The nation of Israel But he becomes Our priest And we begin To be grafted Into this Salvation

branch Of who God Has given us If we would believe And trust in What he has done He came into This world And he lived And he made This sacrifice And now he is Our high priest Because he

is Living in this way And making Intercession for us You see the Old Testament Priests Their priesthood Expired When they Begat to a Certain point They would Have to retire And they would Expire And another Priest would Take

over Christ's Priesthood Never expires His sacrifice Was never Repeated When I began The entire Sermon this Morning What did the Priest have To continually Do They would Take the Sacrifice They would Go into The holy Holies And they

  30. Would make Their sacrifice And they Would do This over And over And over Again For the rest Of their life Christ says I am coming To make One sacrifice For you For your sins For it never To be

done Again And the Intercession That we Have with Christ Never stops Hebrews says It like this He always Lives to Intercede For you And for me Now if You're like Me and You've been Through difficult Times and You've

been Through struggles What an Encouragement It is to Know we have A high priest Like Melchizedek Like Jesus Who never Ceases to Intercede For us

Right now At the Right hand Of God Jesus is Sitting there And he's Praying for You and For me And he's Saying God

They're going Through some Hard times God they're They're going Through difficulties You see what They're going Through you See the Trouble that They're going Through you See the Difficult Temptations That they're Going through

  31. Would you Come and be With them Would the Holy spirit Encourage them And he is Continuing Continuing To make Intercession For each And every One of us He is

Representing Us Before God And I don't Know if I could Ever have a Better representation Before God Than Jesus He is the Perfect holy One who is Sitting at the Right hand of God It would be Like

Again the Only way we Can illustrate This is we Have congressmen And we have Representatives That are In the World That we Elect That become Representatives For us

Christ says I am going To be the Perfect representative For you And I am going To plead your Case before God every Day every Waking moment Of your Life So we have The priesthood Of all nations And then

we Begin to see In verses Five through Seven The powerful Judgment over All the Nations The same Priest who Saves us Who redeems Us if we Believe in what He has done

  32. Also judges Now this is a Difficult part of The passage Because we Like to talk About Jesus As savior We like to Talk about The kingdom We like to Talk about The heaven And what It's going To be

like We like All of Those things But many People in Here Myself Included Few people Like to talk About Jesus As the Judge

Jesus As the Lawgiver Who is The perfect Judge Who is Going to Judge Right from Wrong On that Day of Judgment If you Look at Revelation Chapter Nineteen And you See how That judgment Is taking Place And we

Don't like To look At all The judging Part of It Because we Live in A world That says Don't judge Me

Don't judge Me for My actions Don't judge Me for What I'm Doing And so We sort Of get Sort of Twisted A little bit When we Think of This Because Both Are true

  33. Jesus Is the Savior Jesus Is also A judge Who has To judge Righteously Verses Five Through Seven Looks at The victorious King But also He is crushing The rebellion That is Happening Here

Every earthly Kingdom Is going To fall Unfortunately Christ's I'm sorry Every other Kingdom is going To fall And that is Discouraging To think About But the Encouraging Part is Christ's Kingdom Never Fails His Kingdom Stands Forever His Judgment Is perfect There is no Corruption In

his Judgment There are No Mistakes In his Judgment His Judgment Is powerful No Enemy Survives No Rebellion Succeeds And His Judgment Is Permanent Every Promise That god Has ever Said Or ever Make Will Stand Forever Think About The

Enemies And the Kingdoms Throughout Time Rome Was one Of the Most Powerful Kingdoms Of all Time Egypt Babylon I believe It was UK Britain Who said That the Sun Never

  34. Set On Its Kingdom Because It was So Vast And yet It Fell

As we Begin to Think Through This We Begin to Look At What It Says Here As in Verse Seven Ends With This Victorious Statement He Says That He Will Drink From The Brook By The Road

Therefore He Will Lift Up His Head Many Many Commentators Said Like This That This Is a Picture Of A Conquering King Pausing

Briefly For A Refreshment Before He Continues His Triumph As He Overcame This Nation As He Overcame This Kingdom He Stops And He Gets A Refreshing Drink And He Rests His Head And Then He Continues On His Journey But

As We Look At This As Christ Christ Comes! He Lifts Up His Head And He Is Completed In His Victory

Because Christ Kingdom Is Everlasting And Is Eternal And We Get To Look And We Get To Sit Back And Say That That Is My King And That Is My Priest And I Get To Look To Him As This

  35. Messiah Who Is Reigning Victorious In My Life One of The last Questions I Want to Ask This Before Terry Comes And Begins To Play Is Which Kingdom Are You Investing In

We Have Laid Out Kingdoms Here This Morning We Have The Earthly Kingdom That Man Has Made And We Have The Heavenly Kingdom That God Has Created With Jesus Sitting At The Right Hand Of The Father

And He Is Not Forcing Us To Serve One Or Serve The Other As He Said In Verse Three We Are His Willing Servants Who Volunteer On His Day

We Get To Look At Ourselves And Say Where Am I Investing Where Am I Voluntarily Giving At Am I Just Giving To The Nation That We Live In That's Going To One Day Go Away Or Am I Investing

In This Kingdom Who Christ Has Set Up Who Will Never Ever Fail Or Go Away

  36. As Terry Comes In Place For Us Psalms 110 Forces Every Single!

God Appointed Him As Eternal Priest The New Testament Declares That He Is Reigning Now The Question This Morning Is Not Whether Jesus Is King The Question Is Whether He Is Your King

As You Begin To Evaluate Your Heart As You Begin To Ask Yourself I Know About Jesus But I Truly Do I Know Who He Is Do I Know That He Is The King Of Kings!

The Lord Priest And The Question Is Not Whether He Intercedes The Question Is Whether You Have Trusted In Him To Intercede For You

One Day We Are Promised In Revelation That Every Knee Will Bow Before Him And Confess That He Is Lord Of Lords And He Is King Of Kings And Every One Day Everyone Will Be Forced To Do That Those That Believe Will Be Humbly Bowing Before God And

  37. Those Who Rejected God Will Be Forced To Bow Satan Himself Will Be Forced To Bow And Say That Is The King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords But Right Here Today We Have An Opportunity To Bow Willingly We Have The Opportunity To Say

I Want To Trust In Jesus As The King Of Kings I Don't Want To Be Forced One Day I Want To Trust Him Willingly As My Savior As My King As My Priest Who Is Making Intercession For Me

Because Christ Reigns In Heaven We Get To Submit To His Authority We Get To Serve Alongside Of Him

I Don't Know What's More Encouraging In Our Life To Be To Serve Beside Jesus There Are A Lot Of People That I Look Up To That Are Heroes! My Life!

And The Greatest Coach Of All Time In My Mind Don Shula Would Be Alive And He Were To Call Me Up And Say Hey James You Want To Come Be My Defensive Coordinator For The Miami Dolphins In 1972

  38. He Wouldn't Have To Twist My Arm Hard To Say Yeah I Want To Come Be Your Assistant Coach I Would Love To Serve Alongside Of You Christ Is Saying I I Will Will Ever End

That's Where We're At This Morning The King who rules over us is the very priest who represents us. And because he reigns, there is no fear in our heart.

There is no second guessing in our heart because he is interceding for us when we do not know where our answers lie. And because he is returning one day,

we get to have hope in a greater hope that's ever going to be here on this earth.

Whatever decision you need to make this morning, whether it's Christ to become your King of Kings forever for the first time, or maybe it's a rededication of saying, God, I need to really truly put my faith and trust in you.

  39. I don't know what it is this morning, but I pray that you would seek the Lord this morning. Let us pray. Father, we love you.

We thank you for what you've done for us. Thank you for who you are, what you are, what you've done for us. And I pray, God, that you would help us to trust in you more than we ever have. I pray that you'd help us to humble ourselves before you.

Understand that you are a holy, righteous God. And you will one day judge every single action that we do. And Lord, that shouldn't scare us. That shouldn't make us uneasy.

That should be a comforting decision because we know that we've trusted in you. God, I pray that you would help us to trust you more. Maybe there's someone here that doesn't know you today. They would put their trust and faith in you. And it's in your name we pray. Amen.
